Description
The suit is of ni-mai dou gusoku type. Moulded of Kiritsuke kozane: (mock scale armour) black and gold lacquer and Iro-iro odoshi kebiki laced in green, purple, orange, black, white and dark blue. The Kabuto in O-Boshi style with Fukurin on the suji. The Shiroko is of Hiroi style, with Waki-date in the form of antlers, carved from wood and lacquered. The Do is large and heavy in five piece iron with vertical plates, use of Gawa is rare. The Kote are covered with fine tight chain mail, each plate with crossed 'thunderbolts' and is lacquered in nut brown. With Haidate, Sode, Suneate, Iyoyo, Mempo and Bitsu. This lot has been restored conservatively. Accompanying the lot is a three page typewritten description by the conservator which details the elements of the suit and all of the restorations.
