Description
A Japanese tanju tsutsu, late Edo/early Meiji period Iron ikkaku barrel decorated with dragons in rubbed sahari nunome, hakkaku cannon barrel with brass bands, at the top of the barrel sode motomeate (rear sight), sugigata sakimeate (front sight), inscribed "Inshu No Ju Yenami Chuto Saku". Smooth brass lock with internal spring and iron hammer, fatigued mechanism. Black lacquered wood stock of Bizen type, cracked on both sides, decorated with gold lacquered aoi mon. Barrel length 31.5 cm, overall length 45 cm, 14.2 mm calibre (4.3 monme).Condition: II - III
