Description
Iron ikkaku barrel decorated with dragons and mon in rubbed and slightly oxidised sahari nunome, hakkaku cannon barrel, at the top of the barrel senkiri doshi-motomeate (rear sight), kata sakimeate (front sight), owner’s name "Matsudaira Settsu No Kami Kore No Karazu" and date "Tensho San Nen" (actually 1575, but the barrel was made around 1850), inscribed "Goshu Kunitomo Toheie Mitsuchika" (1837-1899). Smooth brass lock with internal spring, brass hammer. Clear lacquered stock of Awa type with gold lacquered aoi mon and repeated owner’s name, ramrod missing. Barrel length 66 cm, overall length 94.5 cm, 18.2 mm calibre (10 monme).
