From a prominent collection, a very nice Troy & Boston brasstop bellbottom lantern. It has T&B RR stamped on the lid in smaller lettering. A prior owner scribbled Kelly on the bottom and I wouldn't disagree with that when you see the lettering and also the edge of the lid looks like a Kelly too. The bail was replaced with a heavy brass wire. One vent grommet is missing where the bail comes into the vent area. It has a pinch pot that also has a shop stamp of "63". Somebody may have done this as an ID for a locomotive. It has a pinch pot with a brass burner and glass fount. There is a cut nail in the fount collar. I didn't do it and it might be there to keep the fount tight in its collar. It has an old brass pick wick burner. The globe is a standard #39 with extended base and no markings. The Troy & Boston is a Fitchburg predecessor so it's a Boston & Maine predecessor too.
