Description
A framed builder locomotive of the David B. Standish. Standish was the oldest living Engineer in the country when he died at age 86 in 1880. This is from Railway Age magazine. In 1883 the Boston & Providence Railroad named a locomotive after Standish. The frame measures 21" by 18". The print measures 13" by 9 1/2". It was built by Taunton as number 25 later re-numbered by the New Haven in 1904 as 896. It had 16x24" cylinders and 60" drivers. It was scrapped in 1907.
