Acheulean Pike Type Flint Hand Axe Ca. 500,000-700,000 B.P. North Africa. Size 5 1/2 inches length. Ex. New Jersey collection, acquired from a private French collection, acquired 1970s - 1980s. Long, thin, tan-brown pike type hand axe having a well polished surface from eons of exposure to polishing grains of sand. Lovely tan-brown with grayish hues on one face. Other with tan deposits from exposure and tan-brown as well, indicating that it was lying partially embedded in the ground on an angle. Exc. cond
