Description

A fine Steam Gauge Lamp & Lantern manufactured frame with a brass top and bellbottom. The Steam Gauge hallmark is under the vent holes on the top. It's faint but it is clear if you know what to look for. The CRR stamping on the lid is outstanding. It has a glass fount so I can assume it's a New England based railroad and it is most likely the Concord but some may argue that it's from the Cheshire. With the exception of a couple of minor dings on the bell, this is a fantastic frame. The globe is a Boston & Maine red cast with extended base and it is flashed, not solid red. You can see the flashing on the top rim area. The Concord is a B&M predecessor so this globe passes the "laugh" test. This lantern is from an ancient New England railroad collection with lots of good stuff to come.
