Description

A fine example of a New Haven fancy cast back lock made for the Old Colony Division. This is a "Car" lock. We have another Old Colony car lock in this auctions so you can compare the key openings. These locks sometimes have the "OC" ground off either by the manufacturer or the railroad shops. You can assume it dates to a time after the 1893 take over of the Old Colony Railroad by the New Haven Railroad. It shows copper age and has not been cleaned. There are not a lot of fancy brass cast back locks from New England so this is a nice opportunity to get something that is not common.
