JFK Sits Down with Walter Cronkite at Hyannis, Cecil Stoughton PSA Type I
A photograph depicting President John F. Kennedy during an interview with CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite. Measuring 5" x 7", dated September 2, 1963, Hyannis Port, MA. Docketed on verso with Stoughton's unique identification number "C276-6-63". Exhibits minor surface imperfections, else near fine. PSA encapsulated to the overall size of 9.75" x 13.25", receiving a designation of type I.
The President can be seen squinting his eyes while wearing a mic around his neck. The interview would mark the first half-hour nightly news broadcast to be conducted by the station, in which Kennedy discussed Civil Rights, atomic testing bans, and the 1964 election. Originally captured by White House photographer Cecil W. Stoughton, this image can be viewed on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library's website as part of a series entitled Labor Day Weekend at Hyannis Port: Interview with Walter Cronkite, CBS News….
