The Wiener Werkstätte, established in 1903 by the graphic designer and painter Koloman Moser, the architect Josef Hoffmann, and the patron Fritz Waerndorfer, was a productive association in Vienna that brought together architects, artists, designers and artisans working in ceramics, fashion, silver, furniture and the graphic arts. Until its closure in 1932, the Workshop was dedicated to the artistic production of a range of utilitarian items including metalwork, ceramics, and bookbinding. It is often regarded as a pioneer of modern design, with its influence seen in later styles such as Bauhaus and Art Deco.

This book, published to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Workshop, presents a catalog of its output in all departments of the decorative arts. Artist and Workshop collaborator Mathilde Flögl (1893-1958) was tasked with the book's design and publication. Highlights include essays on the group's notable figures, members' monograms, and illustrations of the members' work over the 25-year period.
