"An Architectural Analysis… for a Zero Gravity Space Station" Signed by Walter Cunningham
Signed Pamphlet/Booklet
A study entitled "An Architectural Analysis of Grumman Aircraft's Program for a Zero Gravity Space Station" by Warner, Burns, Toan, and Lunde, Architects. New York: Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corp., February 21, 1968. 32 pages plus 5 fold-out diagrams. Signed and inscribed by NASA astronaut Walter Cunningham on title page: "From my NASA Apollo and Skylab days-/ Walt Cunningham/ Apollo 7". The document itself describes and illustrates various locations of the station's command and control consoles, centrifuge, services compartments, and more, with their interrelationships discussed in detail. Measuring 9.5" x 11.5" overall, housed within a three-ring binder.
Walter "Walt" Cunningham (1932-2023) was an American astronaut who served as Lunar Module Pilot on NASA's Apollo 7 mission. It was launched on October 11, 1968, splashing down in the Atlantic Ocean eleven days later. While in orbit, the crew conducted extensive testing on the Command and Service Module, as well as participated in the first live television broadcast from a spacecraft.
