The Flying Tigers, officially known as the First American Volunteer Group (AVG) were a group of American volunteer pilots who flew for the Chinese Air Force during WWII. They gained fame for their daring combat missions against Japanese forces and were recognized by their shark?s teeth-painted aircraft. The signatures are from these three pilots who became Aces, a significant accomplishment, requiring not only exceptional flying skill but also courage and tactical acumen in aerial combat with five or more air-to-air victories. These three far surpassed the minimum requirements with Duke Hedman, the only AVG pilot--and one of very few Americans--to make ace in a single day.
