A nine piece Inauguration archive with the majority of the collection originating from the collection of Helen Keyes, the longtime personal assistant for the Kennedy family. The collection is in fine condition, with some light wear and tear. The collection includes:

Rare 1/10 10k Gold Medal, 1" circumference, housed in its original box, and gifted to attendees of the inaugural ball. The gold medal, which due to its fantastic condition, likely hasn't been removed from the box since the inaugural ball, sports a portrait of Kennedy and Johnson on the front and the text "Kennedy - Inaugural Ball - January 20, 1961 - Johnson." With a 1/10- 10k marking on verso.

Also included in the lot is an official program for the Inaugural Gala, 38p, 8.5" x11", dated January 19, 1961, Washington D.C. The program showcases images of the key names performing and attending the gala at "The Armory."

An official 1961 Inaugural Invitation, 8" x 11.25", dated January 20, 1961, Washington D.C. In fine condition, with some toning. Accompanied by the official "Inaugural Committee" envelope addressed to "Miss Helen Keyes."

Inauguration Ceremonies Invitation, 6.5" x 10", dated January 20, 1961, Washington D.C., featuring a fantastic portrait image and facsimile signatures of Kennedy and Johnson. Accompanied by the original envelope sent from the "Congress of the United States."

A "Diagram of Seating on President's Platform," 6.5" x 10", printed by the "U.S. Government Printing Office."

Helen Keyes' inauguration notes written on United States Senate stationary. The notes read "1. Swearing in, 2. Parade, check Emmie + Pat, which they want, how many, where what + nurses inside at treasury building."

Helen Keyes' hotel reservation receipt for the Presidential inauguration indicating Misses Helen and Frances Keyes requesting a twin bed for 4 days leading up to and following the inauguration of Kennedy.

Provenance: Helen Mary Keyes

Keyes had long and storied ties to the Kennedy family. Her father was the dentist to Joe and Rose Kennedy's children and the families' children became friends. Helen played a major role in JFK's 1952 Senate campaign, hosting famous ‘Ladies' Teas' for the rising star of the Democratic Party. Her involvement continued throughout the Kennedy administration and during both the 1960 and 1964 Presidential campaigns.
