Description
**Originally Listed At $400**

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE. A stone idol figure made from a diorite green stone, seated on short legs, arms bent at sides formed by string cut and polishing techniques. The head has a thick nose ridge and slight indentations for the eyes and mouth with tiny etched lines on the cheeks, maybe representing scarification or tattoos. Scholars believe figures like this were created after a utilitarian stone axe head became broken or otherwise unusable. Size: 1.75" L x 1.25" W x 4.75" H (4.4 cm x 3.2 cm x 12.1 cm)
