A scarce, partly-printed document signed ?Che? above his stamped name at bottom, 1 page, 11? x 8.5?, January 1961, as Minister of Industry bestowing a honor to Florentino Morales as the ?Outstanding [employee] of the Month" for his ?effort to increase production.? Light damp staining and a very light rusted paperclip impression to the top edge and even toning, in very good condition.

Che Guevara (1928-1967) was a young Argentine doctor whose experiences traveling extensively throughout the Caribbean as well as Latin and South America radicalized him politically. He joined the July 26th Movement of the Cuban revolutionaries Raul and Fidel Castro after meeting the brothers in 1955. Guevara became not only a Comandante, or military commander, of the Cuban rebels, but also their intellectual, spiritual, and tactical leader. Guevara eventually held many roles in the new republican government after the U.S. backed Fulgencio Batista regime was overthrown in 1959. Guevara was appointed Minister of Industry in 1961, and in this role, he attempted to industrialize and centralize the Cuban economy while redistributing labor and emphasizing agricultural production.
