Je signiert und mit der wissenschaftlichen Bezeichnung der Blüte bzw. Pflanze auf Lateinisch. Je punktuell auf Unterlage und unter Passepartout montiert. - Ränder teils etwas unregelmäßig angeschnitten. Im Passepartoutausschnitt gleichmäßig angebräunt. Vereinzelt an den Rändern etwas knittrig. Punktuell Braunflecken. Insgesamt gut. Sehr schöne, detailreiche Blumenstudien in frischen Farben.Enthalten sind: - Alstromiena Chiloensis varietates - Gloxinia caracasana - Nycterium amazonicum - Lychnis Fortunü. - Der Schweizer Kupferstecher, Aquarellist und Illustrator hat für zahlreiche botanische Publikationen Tafeln mit Darstellungen von Pflanzen und vor allem Blumen produziert. Zu seinen bedeutendsten Beiträgen gehören die Illustrationen zu den "Plantes Rares du Jardin de Geneve" von Augustin Pyramus de Candolle von sowie für 'Voyage botanique..." von Boissier. In klarer Formensprache widmete sich Heyland detailreich den botanischen Illustrationen. Für seine Arbeit, die er bis zu seinem Lebensende leidenschaftlich verrichtete, wurde er derart geschätzt, dass 1877 posthum eine neu entdeckte Irisart nach Heyland benannt wurde: Die "Iris heylandiana".Collection of 4 watercolours of flowers. Each spot-mounted to underlying mat and presented under passepartout. - Margins partly somewhat irregularly trimmed. Evenly browned in the passepartout opening. Occasionally somewhat creased in the margins. Brown stains in places. Good overall. Very beautiful, detailed flower studies in fresh colours. - Included are: - Alstromiena Chiloensis varietates - Gloxinia caracasana - Nycterium amazonicum - Lychnis Fortunü. - The Swiss engraver, watercolourist and illustrator produced plates with depictions of plants and especially flowers for numerous botanical publications. His most important contributions include the illustrations for the "Plantes Rares du Jardin de Geneve" by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle and for Boissier's "Voyage botanique...". Heyland devoted himself to detailed botanical illustrations in a clear formal language. He was so highly regarded for his work, which he carried out passionately until the end of his life, that in 1877 a newly discovered species of iris was posthumously named after Heyland: The "Iris heylandiana". 500
