1p, measuring 7.75" x 10.5", New York, dated November 26, 1895. Signed "Theodore Roosevelt" and addressed to Charles U. Gordon of the Chicago Real Estate Board. Typed on New York Police Department letterhead, Roosevelt regretfully declines an invitation due to prior engagements. With flattened mail folds and additional creasing. Staining, dampstaining, and foxing throughout. Areas of chipping and loss at the edges. Boldly signed by Roosevelt.
