**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Protoclassic period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery figure with a flat profile. The woman stands upon petite feet and delineated legs with stylized genitalia in-between, has slanted arms which drop towards fin-shaped hands, and displays a simple necklace on her thick neck. Coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a crooked nose, plump lips, seashell-adorned ears, and a broad chin compose her minimalist visage, and her tall brow is capped with a pinched hat. Traces of yellow pigment are visible along the torso and legs of the red-slipped figure. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 4.45" W x 9.45" H (11.3 cm x 24 cm); 9.7" H (24.6 cm) on included custom stand.
