**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery shaman figure standing atop delineated legs with a small waistband and long-tasseled belt, two sets of arm bands on each extended arm, and an ornate necklace with a pinecone-shaped medallion. The well-proportioned head bears full lips, a small nose with a crescent-shaped nose ornament, coffee-bean-shaped eyes, and a characteristic shamanic horn projecting from the center of a rounded forehead. The tan buffware figure displays faint traces of its original red pigmentation around the arms, legs, and face. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 3.125" W x 5.5" H (7.9 cm x 14 cm); 5.9" H (15 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Repair to small area of necklace. Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, small loss to portion of necklace ornaments, stable hairline fissure on bottom of one foot, and minor nicks to head, body, and limbs. Light earthen deposits and nice traces of pigmentation throughout. Old inventory label written in black ink beneath one foot.
