Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF THREE comprising a leopard figure, decorated with hand-brushed spots, a woman figure in a brightly colored dress, carrying a basket on her head, and a Mary figure riding a donkey, each standing on an oval base. Second half 19th century. 3 3/4" HOA.
Leopard with some flakes to enamel on head, a painted over flake on ear, and three flakes to base; Mary figure with chip to hat; and woman figure, mostly undamaged, except flake on side and two moderate firing separations and other flaws, as made.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA. All proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisition Fund.
