Description
CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF FOUR comprising a standing grey tiger on a molded green grassy base, a polar bear with muzzle, standing on a gilt banded green base, a poodle standing on its hind legs on a gilt banded base, and a yellow bird in a nest. Each decorated in the round. Second half 19th century. 3 1/2" HOA.
Three in good condition, some with scattered loss of enamel decoration; bird with moderate wear, minor hairline on wing; tiger with painted over areas and minute flake to base; poodle with chip to underside of corner; and polar bear with glued repairs, and loss of one ear.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA. All proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisition Fund.
