Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF THREE, each on oval base with polychrome enamel decorations, comprising a flat back figural group featuring musicians with a dog leaping onto man's lap, a sitting whippet/greyhound with a lifeless rabbit between its front legs having applied shredded clay grass and decorated in the round, and a spaniel sitting behind a basket of flowers. Unmarked. Second/third quarter 19th century. 5" to 12 3/8" HOA.
Two undamaged, except each having moderate crazing with some expected wear to enamel decorations; whippet with hairline to base underside. Some having manufacturing flaws, including firing separations, as made.
