1873-Dated (1879). Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Inauguration Medal (Second Term). AE. Struck in Bronzed-copper at the United States Mint. Extremely Fine.
Julian PR-15. 76mm. This medal has natural rich brown-bronze in color and a sharp strike having some scattered marks in the fields. Listed for sale by the Mint beginning in 1873, this historic medal was not actually available until 1879 when William and Charles Barber finally completed the dies, using a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant while he was in office during his first term.
