Central America, Guatemala, ca. early 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden festival mask depicting a deceased Spaniard - mustachioed with a black face (as well as green and yellow highlights here and there) and a prominent lolling red tongue, openwork eyes and mouth as well as perforations beside the nose, through the ears and forehead. Size: 6.625" W x 7.75" H (16.8 cm x 19.7 cm)
