Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) Poet, author. Longfellow was heavily influenced by Romanticism and made a name as a poet and novelist with works like Hyperion, Evangeline, Poems on Slavery and The Song of Hiawatha. He was also known for his translation of Dante’s The Divine Comedy. 3 ¾” x 5” autograph letter signed, Cambridge, April 16, 1879. “…I enclose my nephew’s signature in duplicate, and am Yours truly Henry W. Longfellow.”
