Handwritten letter on yellow-lined paper, signed affectionately as "Jack" at conclusion, ca. October 1960. Addressed to one "Anne-Marie", the future President makes reference to the upcoming election and subsequent end of his campaign. 1p, measuring 7.5" x 11" (visible), no place. Moderate creasing and expected letter folds, with areas of scattered soiling. Very good overall with fantastic contents. Not examined outside of frame. Handsomely displayed with a portrait of Kennedy to the overall size of 22.25" x 23.5".

"Dear Anne-Marie,
I was delighted to hear from you and know all goes well. We are coming home in the last few days of the campaign- and I am hopeful we can win- but one never knows.
I shall be in touch with you in November after the election- win or lose. I should like to come over if I am unsuccessful- and I will let you know in any case. Take care-
Jack"

October showed a turning point in Kennedy's campaign, with him moving into a slight but consistent lead over Nixon after the candidates were in a statistical tie for most of August and September. This was largely attributed to a series of televised debates between the two candidates, the first of its kind in America. On election day, Kennedy defeated Nixon in one of the closest presidential elections of the 20th century, by just two-tenths of one percent in the popular vote.
