Description
Dr. Wernher von Braun "Weekly Notes" Lot of three different dating from 1963, 1966 and 1968 as received by Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger. Each of these pages are photocopies as issued. Due to the massive infrastructure that Dr. von Braun managed at the Marshall Space Flight Center, it soon became apparent to him that he needed a management technique that enabled him to keep up with what his 50 or so Department Heads were doing/planning on a weekly basis and, at the same time, keep the Department Heads up to date on what their collogues were doing. He quickly developed this system. Every Friday, each Department Head would submit to von Braun a one page weekly report; telling him the accomplishments/failures of the week, plus their plans for the upcoming week. Over the ensuing weekend, von Braun would read each report, make notations on it, and on Monday morning, distribute photocopies of each report to each of the Department heads. In this manner everyone would know what everyone else was doing and synergies among them would develop. The system was very successful. These reports provide an excellent insight as to the doings of the Marshall Space Flight Center during these weeks as well as how Dr. von Braun thought processes worked. A great addition to any collection.
