Dr. Wernher von Braun Autograph on an December 27, 1963 three page typed report (+ three pages of fiscal charts) from Dr. Ernst Stuhlinger, Director Special Projects Laboratory to Dr. von Braun, Director, MSC entitled: "Status of FY-64 Supporting Research Funding". Dr. von Braun has made extensive pencil notations throughout the report including one that reads: "Ernst - I have the definite impression that Kurzweg's support of our Lunar Technology Program depends directly on our willingness and ability to develop a program that leaves most of the funds within the NASA Center family. Do you think such a program is feasible and can be worked out to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned?". He has signed this, and other notations with his characteristic informal "B". Interesting reading. Politics plays a part in everything and progress is accomplished in a state of compromise.
