Painted in great detail and in bright colours on a gold ground, the composition centred with the Anastasis and surrounded by a series of sixteen important church feasts, starting in the upper left and ending in the lower right corner: the Nativity of the Virgin; the Entrance of the Virgin in the Temple; the Trinity; the Annunciation; the Nativity; the Presentation of Christ in the Temple; Christ's Baptism; the Entry into Jerusalem; the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor; the Ascension of Christ; the Dormition; the Raising of Lazarus, the Beheading of St John; the Elevation of the Holy Cross, the Pentecost and the Pokrov. Minimal paint blisterings, minimal losses. Overlaid with a finely engraved silver-gilt basma. Marked with city hallmark, 84 standard and master's mark 'SG' in Cyrillic. On the reverse old Cyrillic label 'SILIN & ALEKSEEV'. 35.7 x 31 cm.
