Item Details

Description

A very unusual design fixed globe lantern. It's bid at 15" (without the bail). It has a distinctive brass plate with the patent information for May 29, 1860. They put it on the vertical joint of the base. It has a pinch pot and an odd burner area. The base has intake holes in the pinch pot retaining ring. It has 5 rows of intake holes. The vent area is nice with a fluted tube protecting the side holes. The top is a cookie cutter plate. The bail is a wire. I think it's 100% original. The globe is plastered into the top and the base ring. The base ring uses a standard bayonet mount to the base assembly I've never seen one before.
