Item Details
Description
An early fixed globe style lantern made for the Concord Railroad in New Hampshire. This frame has a flat band bail and a typical star-diamond-star pattern vent area. The base cup has damage on both mounts. The base of the top assembly has a threaded nut used to tighten the top to the base cup. The globe has applied flanges to the top and bottom. The wheel cut CRR is in block style lettering on one side. The globe is free blown (not molded) and it's pretty heavy. A new base would not be impossible to find. It's a pretty standard size. During the preview please do NOT tighten the nut on the base. Ask for help. It is easy to crack the globe by over-tightening this nut.
