Description
With no visible markings; cow horn with carved spout, wooden stopper and carved wood butt cap, with iron staple near the spout and brass capstan and ring on the cap; repaired after damage (possibly from a musket ball) with heavy leather and iron upholstery tacks, 10 1/8 in. L. overall.
Provenance: From the estate of a Maryland collector. Purchased at Beaver Creek Antique Market, Hagerstown, Md., January, 2001. With copy of bill of sale.
