Description
Inscribed around the butt end "ZEBN. POTTS . 5 BN. YORK MILITA." (identified with Zebulon Potts, 1746-1801, a militia captain from Philadelphia Co., 1778-'81, later sheriff of Montgomery Co. and a state senator) further engraved with two views of a town, one labelled "YORK" in a banner, and with a montage of artillery, drums and flags; cow horn with carved mouth, the butt with wooden cap secured with small nails, centering a filling hole sealed with a large square peg, 9 1/4 in. L.
