Description
Inscribed "J. Webb / 10 / Mass Rg 1775" (identified with John Webb,1758-1843, from Weymouth, Mass., enlisted in 1776 in the 3rd Regt. (created in 1775) and in service when it was folded into the 10th, in 1777, served in various regiments for the duration of the war) engraved with a large and detailed view of Boston skyline from the harbor; cow horn with carved wooden butt cap bearing incised letters "V" and "II," secured with brads, and with a staple at the edge, emerging on the edge of the horn, 8 3/8 in. L.
