Inscribed "Peter Pratt / 1807" within a cartouche (identified with Peter Pratt, 1807-1884, a lifelong resident of Broome Co., NY, likely engraved to commemorate his birth) further engraved with a heraldic eagle and a Kentucky style rifle; cow horn with carved mouth, with remnants of black stain, the butt with high-domed wooden cap secured with brads, centering an iron staple for suspension, 12 3/4 in. L.
