Marone offrì ai suoi lettori delle informazioni storiche sull'isola d'Ischia, unitamente ad una descrizione della situazione sociale della popolazione e dell'organizzazione amministrativa, per poi approdare all'argomento principale del suo scritto, ovvero le acque minerali dell'isola. Quelle enumerate da Marone, ventisei tra sorgenti e stufe, sono sia le acque "che si impiegano per uso medicinale" e quelle "che meritano la pubblica conoscenza". Di ciascuna sorgente l'autore illustra il luogo in cui è ubicata, le proprietà fisiche e chimiche, comprese le analisi degli esperti, le proprietà medicinali e l'uso che di esse è consigliato per il benessere dei beneficiari.Esemplare appartenuto a Stefano Trinchera, professore dell’Università di Napoli e medico di corte di re Ferdinando II.

First edition. Marone offered his readers historical information on the island of Ischia, together with a description of the social situation of the population and the administrative organisation, and then arrived at the main topic of his writing, namely the mineral waters of the island. Those enumerated by Marone, twenty-six between springs and stoves, are both the waters "that are used for medicinal use" and those "that deserve public knowledge".
