Judah Benjamin DS for Repayment of Railroad Loan
Judah P. Benjamin (1811-1884). Document Signed, "J. P. Benjamin", 1p, 8" x 5", [London], June 21, 1880. Partially printed in purple ink. To E. Livingston, Esq. and Sir Henry Whatley Tyler. Small hole at upper left does not affect text. Folds and creases. A few scattered stains. In very good plus condition. Includes a collection of payment documents related to the Railroad, as pictured. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.
Benjamin orders the payment of $500 to John Collinson per an agreement towards the purchase of the Atlantic, Mississippi and Ohio Railroad. The Confederate leader signed this document while living in London after the Civil War.
