Ben Franklin (January 6, 1705-April 17, 1790). Signed 3.75 x 2.5 clipped signature. Boldly signed in black ink. Paper has some wrinkling and is toned due to age. One of the most legendary figures in U.S. history, "founding father" Benjamin Franklin was an author, political theorist, politician, abolitionist, printer, scientist, inventor, musician, civic activist, and diplomat. Often referred to as "The First American," he served as Postmaster General, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Commissioner to France, and President of the Society for the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage.
