Description
John F. Kennedy Monumental Archive in Striking Multimedia Display, 6+ Pcs Incl. JFK Endorsement!

An archive of 6+ items related to 35th U.S. President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963), including an autograph endorsement by John F. Kennedy, presidential campaign ephemera, inauguration memorabilia, and commemorative presidential tokens, all artfully arranged behind glass in a shadowbox frame. The archival items are displayed in floating mounts using clear corners, and every item features custom three-dimensional matting, which makes for a striking presentation. An engraved name plaque, patriotic tricolored accents, and a colorful pop-out of the Presidential Seal complete the display. The items have not been examined out of the frame. Overall, the frame measures 32.5" x 43.5" x 3.25" and weighs approximately 20 lbs.

**Please note that due to the dimensions of this piece, this lot will require third-party shipping.**

The lot includes:

1. A 1p autograph endorsement by John F. Kennedy as "John Kennedy" in black ink above his additional printed signature as "John F. Kennedy U.S.S." On "United States Senate / Memorandum" notepaper. December 23, 1955. [Washington, D.C.] Expected wear including flattened wrinkles, and three sets of staple holes found in the upper left corner. Else near fine. Approximately 4" x 5.125" measured through the glass. Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication (Parsippany, New Jersey), submission number 124692, dated May 4, 2016; as well as a Certificate of Authenticity card from Hollywood Memorabilia, bearing a hologram sticker numbered A030279, and presumed to have been issued for this item.

Senator Kennedy conveyed some information to James J. Fitzgerald of Springfield, Massachusetts (possibly a relative on his mother's side?) regarding a post office promotion. Fitzgerald's prospects were likely good, as James J. Fitzgerald was listed as the Superintendent of the Forest Park Station at 393 Belmont Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts in a 1970 city directory.

Also included outside the display is the original retained carbon copy of Boston Postmaster's J.P.W. Finn's December 19, 1955 letter to Senator Kennedy regarding Fitzgerald's promotion, heavily wrinkled and with a chipped edge but else near fine.

2. An official unused ticket to the 1960 Democratic National Convention, comprised of the ticket and attached perforated stub. Unnumbered, the ticket granted access to the Work Area of the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California during the July 1960 Fifth Session. Some isolated edge wear, else pristine. Measures approximately 7" x 2.75."

3. A.A.A. Novelty Co. (Washington, D.C.) vintage political pin emblazoned with Kennedy's image, reading "John Kennedy." Ca. 1960. 3" diameter.

4. A printed invitation to the Inauguration of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson on January 20, 1961. 5.75" x 9.375."

5. Three parts of a complete "Official Program, Inaugural Ceremonies of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, January 20, 1961," being the front cover (displayed at left) and the back cover (displayed at right) flanking the bound booklet of inner pages (displayed at center.) The $1.00 price is listed on the front cover, and the Merkle Press copyright information is listed on the back cover. The 54pp booklet was published by the Kennedy-Johnson Inaugural Committee in 1961. Gently toned, and with scattered gentle wrinkles emanating from the binding, else near fine and in vibrant color. 8.25" x 11."

6. A collection of U.S. Presidents commemorative tokens depicting each president from Washington to Kennedy, displayed primarily along the top and right edges of the display. Silver-finished. Approximately 1.25" diameter.

7. A portrait of John F. Kennedy, unknown of what medium, or if vintage or reproduction.
