American Civil War silver ID fifth corps badge belonging to Private George Larkins, of Company B, 191st Pennsylvania Infantry. Pin presents engraved obverse on arms of fifth corps badge "Geo. Larkin , Co. B 191st P.V.R." and measures 1.1" x 1.1". Reverse presents T-bar pin. Surface of badge exhibits toned patina. George Larkins enlisted and was mustered into Company B, of the 31st Pennsylvania Infantry regiment on January 22, 1862. He was wounded at Charles City Cross Roads on June 30, 1862. Larkins transferred to Company B of the 191st Pennsylvania Infantry on June 6, 1864. He was discharged in late 1864. As is sometimes seen in named Civil War badges Larkins name has been misspelled or shortened to Larkin. Provenance: Gary Wolfer collection.
