Description
American Civil War silver ID sixth corps badge belonging to Private Edward Baker, of Company I, 138th Pennsylvania Infantry. Pin presents engraved obverse on arms of sixth corps badge "Edward Baker, Co. I, 138th Pa. Vol" and measures 1.25" x 1.25". Reverse presents T-bar pin. Surface of shield exhibits toned patina. Edward Baker (1829-1899) enlisted in Norristown, Pennsylvania and was mustered into Company I, of the 138th Pennsylvania Infantry regiment on August 26, 1862. Baker mustered out with his regiment on June 23, 1865 at Washington, DC. He is buried in the St Luke's UCC Cemetery, Trappe, Pennsylvania. Provenance: Gary Wolfer collection.
