ARCHAISTIC COLLECTION
瓶嚴選上乘整料白玉雕琢，質潔白細膩，色澤明亮光潤。圓唇口，葫蘆形頸，溜肩，扁圓腹，橢圓形圈足，俗稱「抱月瓶」。頸及肩相交處飾對稱螭龍耳，連身捲尾，流暢生動。腹部素面圓形開光似若滿月，豐滿綽約。圈足邊緣岩石厚實，層層分明，正面岩石一大羊趴伏，四肢收於腹下，羊首回望，雙耳下垂，二目平視前方，神態篤定安詳。一立姿小羊與之相背，回首相望，展現山野靜謐恬淡之境。背面一仰首大羊，雙角向後略彎至肩部，作前行之姿，生動傳神。身後磐石於罅隙中冒出一株靈芝，大小三朵橫出，疏密得宜，靈動逼真，呈現祥瑞氣氛。
三陽開泰為中國傳統吉祥圖案之一，亦稱「三陽交泰」，寓意春回大地，萬象更新。又「羊」與「祥」相通，將「吉祥」寫作「吉羊」，漢瓦當中亦有「大吉羊」之字樣。清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清乾隆〈黃玉三陽開泰雙連蓋瓶〉於瓶側凸雕三隻羊，兩大一小的構圖與本品極為相似，皆以羊作裝飾，寓意太平盛世，國泰民安，可資參考。
抱月瓶身形似滿月，故稱「抱月瓶」或「寶月瓶」，代表花好月圓，國泰民安的盛世景象。乾隆時期尤嗜仿古，常以玉器仿製，為求外型圓滿規整，選材雕琢過程需耗費大量玉料，不僅成本極高，工藝技術要求相對卓越。自乾隆時期平定新疆，玉路通達以後，才得以製作如此珍稀昂貴之形制，使其成為清代宮廷殿堂的重要陳設器之一。本件抱月瓶造形充滿濃郁青銅器元素，源於戰國中期扁壺之創新作品，其複刻原型可參閱欽定四庫全書－西清古鑑、卷二十二 ・ 漢〈素匾壺一〉，另北京故宮博物院庋藏清乾隆〈青玉勾雲紋寶月瓶〉，可作本件抱月瓶仿古風格比對的參考依據。唯本器於瓶邊緣延伸磐石，岩石上採圓雕技法以兩大一小的三羊為主題，光素似滿月的瓶身巧留金黃皮色，猶如皎潔月光映照，獨具綽約之姿。
本件抱月瓶形制規整，線條婉轉流暢，結合挖膛、透雕、淺浮雕等多種工藝製作，構圖極為講究，法度嚴謹，動靜結合，頗具空間感和清遠之意韻，觀之精緻典雅，為清中期具有代表性的玉器珍品。
