450 十八世紀 白玉鵪鶉銜嘉穀

白玉質，光澤細潤，質地純淨至美。全器圓雕一對鵪鶉，大小相向依偎，共銜嘉穀。鏤雕枝葉自嘴緣曲折，彎曲有度，盛開舒展，翻轉有致，穀穗延伸搭於大鵪鶉背部，枝梗垂繫，枝上綴飽滿穀穗，鮮活生動。鵪鶉一對小首，短頸，碩身，圓眼尖喙，雙肢屈收於腹下，身姿豐盈，雙翅收攏貼服身軀兩側，羽翼豐滿，翎毛刻劃細密清晰，層疊有序，富以生動層次感，體現高超工藝技巧。清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清〈玉雙鵪鶉〉，雕琢題材與本品相似，為清宮頗受歡迎的文房造形，可資參考。
渚岸水禽題材始盛於宋代花鳥畫，蘊含詩意及隱逸思想。而鵪鶉寓意平安吉祥，穀穗象徵豐收，元、明時期漸成裝飾主題，更是宮廷常用圖案和器物造形。清高宗曾於邊文進〈平安戩穀圖〉御題詩：「鵪鶉名可喻平安，嘉穀將登瑞露漙。最是隴西熟小雅，圖成合傳歲朝看。」又《漢書．食貨志》：「各安其居而樂其業」。鵪鶉一對，則象徵「雙安」。穗與歲諧音，寓有「安居樂業、歲歲平安」吉祥之意。本對鵪鶉集圓雕、浮雕、鏤雕等技法，琢製精湛，運刀靈活，構思精緻，嘉穀與鵪鶉，兩相呼應，頗有吉祥意味，既可陳設欣賞，又能於手中把玩，令人愛不釋手，為十八世紀藝術水平極高之佳作。
