A Rare Kwoma Washuk Meeting House Panel with Spirits painting. This large and impressive panel is painted on a flattened section of palm tree bark and painted with natural organic pigments. The Painting is of a three Spirit faces. The Tribes of this region are strong animist with a devout belief in the power of spirits to interact in the world of the living. The panel was Field collected by John C. Edler in Bangwis Village, Kwoma- Washkuk, Papua New Guinea in the 1980's. The panel measures 46 x 18 inches. Provenance: Field collected by John C. Edler C. 1984
