NOT ELIGIBLE FOR IN-HOUSE SHIPPING. DESCRIPTION: This large painting by Louisa McElwain "Song of the High Desert", 1999, is of her most popular subject, storms in the New Mexico desert. This one is remarkable for its impact and color and composition. PROVENANCE: Part of a collection, some of which was purchased in the past few years, though now being sold. MEASUREMENTS: 34" X 64", 44 1/2" X 74 1/2" framed size. CONDITION: The painting has no damage or restoration. This painting has no craquelure. Many larger Louisa McElwain paintings, though not old paintings, have craquelure resulting from damage during shipping. The heavy impasto method of painting she used requires canvas stabilization or vertical-only shipment.
