Description
Ancient Near East, probably Anatolia or Mesopotamia, ca. late 4th to early 3rd millennium BCE. A hand-carved stone mace head with a spherical form and cylindrical hafting slots vertically drilled through its body. Natural inclusions of cream, gray, and tan hues create a exquisite pattern along the globe's exterior. This beautiful stone would have been attached to a shaft to be used as a weapon during in the Ancient World. Please note, the Lucite stand in photo is not included.Size: 1.625" W x 1.875" H (4.1 cm x 4.8 cm)
