Description
A lot of 3 silver Roman silver coins. The first is a Roman Republican denarius of C Vibius Cf Pansa, 90 BC, with laureate head of Apollo on the obverse and Minerva in quadriga on the reverse, (18 mm, 3.97g). The second is a denarius of Augustus, 27 BC - AD 14, struck 8 BC at Lugdunum. The reverse depicting Augustus seated on a platform receiving a child from a barbarian standing before, (17 x 19 mm, 3.63g). The last is a silver denarius of the emperor Marcus Aurelius, AD 161 - 180, struck at Rome. The obverse with his bearded portrait, the reverse depicting Liberalitas standing to lt. (18.5 mm, 3.05g). The first with two remains of mountings on reverse and the Augustus ex-jewelry. Ex Chicago private collection.
