Autograph Letter Signed (“Arch”) on his pictorial “Public Relations Expert” stationery. San Diego, Calif. Aug. 21, 1963. 2pp.  To “Ed”.

Written to an aspiring writer by the famous professional boxer – the longest reigning World Light Heavyweight Champion (1952-1962) – just after he had retired from sports to take on new career challenges as actor and philanthropist. Mentions the supposedly autobiographic “Archie Moore Story”, published three years before; and “foul laws of apartheid”.

“…Yes – I read with a great thoroughness your essay, short story or self analysical analtisics, to be sure, these appraisal terms are not to be located in any dictionary – because they are Mooreology, to put it mildly your works have all the driving force of a Near Eastern typhoon moving in on the stilted huts enroute to demolish the adjacent modern concrete block and steel reinforced beach hotels the commercial investors described as a capitalistic syndicated [missing text?] ringside. IV I like most writers like me who have helped me – a few I dearly love. Dave Gregg who wrote the Arch Moore auto bio – but doe to politics had to turn over tape after tape to another writer hired by McGraw Hill. So to swing back, to where I came in – a man may actually segregate himself, for contamination and befouling Gods purr airs with foul laws of apartheid – is a sin those who sin as thus – live a great lie – wouldn’t a hillside with a complete coverage of lilly white flowers look monotonously common – compared to the adjacent hillside covered with an array of different colours – Reds, whites black, blues browns yellows etc. – Oh well (Im only an ex boxer) – you know what I mean..."

Condition
Though the second page of the letter is written on the verso of the first, there may be some text missing – although Moore’s prose is generally somewhat incomprehensible.
