Greece, Ionian, ca. 6th century BCE. A tall wheel-thrown terracotta lydion (perfume jar) with a narrow tubular base, a squat spherical body, a wide cylindrical neck, and a flat and flared rim. Lovely black and orange stripes cover the body, neck, and rim on top of a cream-hued base. Size: 2.625" W x 4.375" H (6.7 cm x 11.1 cm).
Provenance: private Schroeder collection, Boca Raton, Florida, USA, acquired before 1970
