Item Details
Description
Greece, Ionian, ca. 6th century BCE. A tall wheel-thrown terracotta lydion (perfume jar) with a narrow and tubular base, a globular body, a wide funneled neck, and a flat, flared rim. A large portion of the body is covered in an undulating orange and black pattern; this design probably enveloped the totality of its exterior surfaces upon creation. Simply gorgeous! Size: 4" H (10.2 cm).
